Bright colors, images of performers and lots of shiny new instruments help to generate interest in joining this successful middle school band program.
This tri-fold brochure is given to all interested graduating 5th graders as they prepare to select the activities they’ll join in middle school. The front cover is very colorful and shows students performing in a variety of settings. The inside features a full three page spread of a variety of musical instruments and asks the question “Which instrument will choose YOU?” (sort of like Harry Potter’s wand!), which conveys the philosophy of the director: that students will be a natural fit for certain instruments over others. Students get to try out all of the instruments and are tested for aptitude.
There’s also plenty of information for parents, to explain about how band works and what the expectations are. The back pages feature more information about the program itself and a bio of the director.
